ISM-ISPS-MLC Lead Auditor ISO 19011:2026 – Online Course –

The objective of this course is to develop the knowledge, skills, and practical competencies required to plan, conduct, report, and follow up on internal audits of an organization’s management systems in accordance with the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, and the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC, 2006).

Upon successful completion, participants will have the confidence and competence to perform effective internal audits using internationally recognized auditing principles and best practices aligned with ISO 19011:2026 – Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems, helping organizations strengthen compliance, improve operational performance, and drive continual improvement.

3. Apply risk-based auditing principles to identify non-conformities, evaluate the effectiveness of management systems, and promote continual improvement in safety, security, and maritime labour compliance.

4. Strengthen communication, leadership, and reporting skills to effectively engage with shipboard personnel, shore management, and senior leadership throughout the audit process.

5. Build the competence and confidence to lead integrated ISM, ISPS, and MLC internal audits that support regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and continuous organizational improvement.

Assessment:

Each chapter concludes with multiple-choice questions, followed by a final assessment. A passing score of 70% is required. The final assessment is entirely online, with no in-person classroom attendance necessary. A proctor will monitor you during the final assessment. A computer (not a tablet or Chromebook) with a webcam and reliable internet speed is required. A fee may apply for re-attempting the final assessment if you do not achieve the minimum passing score of 70%.

1. Device: A desktop computer or laptop is necessary with a Webcam and microphone. The Final Assessment is not compatible with tablets, cell phones, or Chromebooks.
2. Operating System: Windows 10 or later, Mac OS X 11 or later
3. Web Browser: Google Chrome v39 or later or Mozilla Firefox v34 or later
4. Internet Connection: 3 Mbps or better for upload and download speed
5. Hardware: 8GB or more of RAM, Microphone and speakers, Webcam

Course Duration:

The 55-hour course can be completed at your own pace, allowing you to enter and exit the course as needed.
